The short answer
Postal gold buying is a well-established, regulated industry in the UK. The largest buyers process thousands of transactions every month without incident. The key protections are: comprehensive transit insurance, Royal Mail Special Delivery tracking, tamper-evident packaging, and a buyer with a verifiable trading history and clear returns policy.
The risk in selling gold online is not in the postage — it is in choosing an unknown or disreputable buyer. Before sending anything, you should be able to find the buyer's Companies House registration, check independent reviews on Trustpilot or Google, and read a clear statement of their insurance and returns policy.
We have been buying precious metals for over 40 years. Every item sent to us is photographed on arrival, logged individually, and returned free of charge if you do not accept our offer. Our insurance covers your items from the moment you post them.

Common questions
What if my items are lost in the post?
Items sent using our pre-paid Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope are insured under our policy from the moment you drop them at the post office. In the event of a Royal Mail loss, we initiate a claim on your behalf and you receive the full insured value.
How do I know you've received my items?
Royal Mail Special Delivery provides full tracking. You'll receive tracking confirmation. We also send an acknowledgement when your package is opened and photographed.
What if I'm not happy with the offer?
You simply decline. We return everything to you, insured, at no cost. There is no time pressure and no obligation to accept.
Is there a limit on how much I can send?
Our standard freepost envelope is suitable for items up to approximately £5,000 in value. For higher-value collections, we arrange insured courier collection. Contact us before sending anything above that level.
Can I visit in person instead?
Yes. We offer in-person valuations at our London office by appointment. Contact us to arrange.
