How do I know if inherited silverware is real silver?
Look for hallmarks. UK sterling silver is stamped '925' or carries a lion passant mark. Plated items are marked 'EPNS' or 'Sheffield Plate', and we do not buy them. If you can't find any markings, that is fine: we test everything with XRF.
Can I keep specific sentimental pieces and sell the rest?
Yes. Our offer is itemised by piece, so you can accept it for individual items and have the others returned. There is no requirement to sell everything at once.
What if the silverware is heavily tarnished?
Tarnish is a surface reaction and has no effect on the silver content. Please send everything as it is. We prefer to test items in their natural state.
